BRHS CHEERLEADERS RECOGNITION FROM THE UNIVERSAL CHEERLEADERS ASSOCIATION CAMP. CONGRATS GIRLS!!

-In the large varsity division, the BRHS Cheerleaders earned 2nd place in the band dance/sideline performance, 3rd place in the cheer performance, 3rd place in the overall gameday performance, and 4th place in the rally routine performance. IT SHOULD BE NOTED that all of those performances were created while at camp over the course of four days.

-Sierra Gonzalez was selected by our UCA Big Brother, Nick, to receive the "Pin It Forward" Award, an award that goes to a cheerleader who is a great example for why America needs cheerleaders.

-Corinne Santana was selected by a fellow camper from Center Reach High School to receive the "Pin It Forward" Award, an award that goes to a cheerleader who is a great example for why America needs cheerleaders.

-Lizzie Shiendelman (grade 10) and Corinne Santana (grade 12) were both named UCA All-American Cheerleaders, the highest honor a high school cheerleader can earn.

-Malaysia Graham was asked to interview and tryout to be a UCA Camp Staffer next summer.

BRHS Track

Congratulations to Aaron White who placed 2nd at group 1 track and field states this weekend in the javelin. He threw 6 feet further than last week with a personal best of 177 foot. Herbert Sykes placed 5th in the 400 hurdles and took silver in the 110 hurdles running personal bests in both!

A special Congratulations to the boy's STATE CHAMPION 4x4 team of Chris Doughty, Trevor Greene, Ben Winkler and Herbert Sykes who became the 1st state champs in Buena boys track since 2007!

Congratulations to Gabriella DeStefano!! Gabriella won the Comcast Leaders & Achievers Scholarship Award. The Ceremony was held in Trenton on May 4.

FFA Trip to Deptford

On Friday January 26th , 25 students from Buena Regional High School's FFA classes, displayed their floral arrangements at an annual competition among high schools in the tri-county area at Deptford Mall. The exhibition proved to be a positive experience with most students receiving second and third place for their presentations. We were fortunate to bring home the gold with two students receiving first place for their displays.

Gabriella will attend the HOBY Leadership conference at Kean University in June, 2018 representing Buena Regional High School. We are very proud of these two young women and their accomplishments!

Congratulations to Sophia Derwin for making the All-South Jersey Honors Band. She was selected with honors among all music students in Southern New Jersey. Matthew Wear received honorable mention. Great work guys!

BRHS Cheerleading Team

On October 21st & 22nd, the BRHS Competition Cheerleading Squad earned 1st place in their division at the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Cheer for the Cure Competition. Their trophy is currently on display in the main office at the HS. Their next competition is on November 5 at Burlington High School and their final competition (regional competition) will be held on November 11 in Tom's River; they hope to qualify for the High School National Cheerleading Championships on November 11.

National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) Winners:

Mathew Wear and Gabriella DeStefano have been named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Certificate of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) was presented to these scholastically talented seniors.


About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students do not continue in the 2018 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, but are recognized for placing amongst the top 50,000 scorers of the more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
